This is one of 36 Girl Scout geocaches that will be placed in Nassau County representing the 36 Girl Scout Councils in the county.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting. For my own Gold Award, I thought it would be a great idea to use geocaching to showcase other girl's Gold Awards.
In 2004, Danielle D'Ambrosio, from the Wantagh/Seaford Association, earned her Gold Award by setting up pen pals through WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts) to places including Canada, Mexico, Luxembourg, Ireland, Peru, Japan, Belgium and Poland.
Please note that over the years, the requirements to earn this award have changed.
