Please see the listing for Sawbreaker #1 (GC3E9FN) for more information on this series including parking.

You are currently walking through a section of the Westfield Watershed which to the north feeds into the Westfield Reservoir AKA Montgomery Reservoir and to the south feeds into the Tekoa Reservoir.

Neither reservoir is currently used for drinking water. Tekoa Reservoir once served to provide potable water to downtown Westfield in the late 1800's to early 1900's.

Montgomery Reservoir served much of the rest of Westfield but was taken off-line in 1973 due to water purity issues. It's currently maintained as an emergency water supply for Westfield and was most recently used as a source of water for helicopters to fight the wild-fires on Tekoa Mountain in mid-April, 2010.

The cache is a bison tube hidden in the woods. ;-)

A fire burned Tekoa Mountain behind the former Strathmore paper mill in the Woronoco section of Russell on Monday, November 19, 2001. The fire is located in the same area as the April 1999 blaze which burned 1,200-acres across the eastern base of Shatterack Mountain along areas of Tekoa and Ball mountains in Russell and Montgomery.
