Windmill Traditional Cache
Tony and Amy: I checked this yesterday but could not find the container. I think the local horse owner has been inconvenienced by geocachers as I see she has put up a sign to redirect people searching.
I understand that this was found a few days ago and the contents were in a poor state. Maybe they have removed the box.
It survived 10 years so maybe time to delete it.

A short distance from a windmill which dominates the skyline.
Box refurbished and logbook replaced 12/2/21 Since writing the original description, I have been contacted on behalf of a local landowner. Apparently people have been searching for the cache on private land and leaving gates open. The cache is by the side of the lane. There is no need to leave the lane or cross any private land. This cache is near a replica windmill which is in fact a 3G mobile phone mast. When we chatted with local residents, we learned that there was some controversy at the time it was built. I gather that nobody wanted a ugly mobile phone mast and the project was only allowed when it was agreed to disguise it. I lived in Broadway as a child and knew there had once been a real windmill near the site. (Hence the name.) You can approach the cache along the road marked with a footpath signpost to Wood, Ashill and Windmill Hill Lane. Take care because the lane is very narrow and we suggest you park and walk the short distance to the cache. It is at the roadside on the left hand side. This is our first cache so we hope we have observed all the protocols. FTF will find our trackable "Mr Monkey"
