Placed this on the Panhandle Pathway which is near my home. This way I can put TBs that I am not able to get released in a reasonable time here to get them moving. Also I hope this brings more people to the Panhandle Pathway to enjoy the outdoors, scenery & get some exercise.
Named this the Panhandle TB Station (instead of hotel) to kind of keep the railroad theme somewhat since this use to be part of the PRR railroad system. The Panhandle Pathway (PanhandlePathway.org)was opened a couple years ago & is a bike/hiking trail. It runs from just south of US Hwy 24 to Winamac, IN, 21 miles north. It is a great trail to bike & hike on & I know since I have walked it round trip. I did that on 9/4/10 & is the farthest I have walked in one day (43 miles total). So I know you should enjoy your visit here! This was placed with permission of the Friends of the Pathway who maintain the trail system.
The cache is an ammo box with a couple TBs already in it, some other swag & a Wheresgeorge dollar for the FTF. You will have a short to medium walk (about 1.2 miles round trip). It is a good walk though. Bring your bike & ride to the cache! Better bring a pen also because I think I forgot to put one in the cache.
Parking is at the trailhead on County Road 50 or at Pisgah Church at the corner of CR50 & CR600.
