This cache is a medium lock-n-lock.
Part of the Virginia State Park System, Caledon Natural Area is a 2,584 acre park in King George, VA. Originally a tobacco plantation established by the Alexander family in 1659, the land was donated to the state by the Smoot family in 1974. Caledon is noted for its stands of eastern hardwood climax forest and for its large summer population of bald eagles.
The area near this cache is full of mature white oak trees that are important as a food source for many of wildlife species.
