Geocache Description:

This Cache is in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of Girl Scouts. The Cache will be almost drive up and is hiding in the landscaping on the Rocklin side of a wall.

NO NEED TO CLIMB TO TOP OF STEEP HILL. Approach from left side of tree for easy access. Use stealth so as not draw neighbors over to see what you all are poking around for. NOTE: I made sure it is not BURIED in the bark as of 12/13/12. Please replace were you found it so it doesn't get lost in the bark again.

In Savannah GA, 100 Years ago, Juliette Low called over 18 girls to start the first Girl Scout Troop. March 12th's phone call started a movement that spread across the state, the nation and the world. The idea of taking girls from a sheltered home enviroment and teaching them first aid, outdoor skills, playing sports and community service took hold and girls around the world participate in troops or as "Juliette" Scouts. Leaders are volunteers and not paid for their time and efforts into leading a troop. The basic idea of "girl lead" is worked into the troop format. So girls make the choices about what their troop participates in and what they do with their time and money.
