Geocache Description:

The cache box is very close to Rattlesnake point. We suggest you start at the pond in Seneca park. Its about 3/4 of a mile from there. Please stay along the river and avoid private property.

Rattlesnake Pete respected for his physical strength and steel-nerved courage had survived the bites of 29 rattlers and four copper-heads. He was a master of Reptitle lore which he learned from the indians. (Rochester Sketchbook by Arch Merrill printed 1946 and reprinted by the D and C). Rattlesnake point could have well been one of his caching grounds. This geocache is dedicated to Peter P "Rattlesnake Pete" Gruber Rochesters most colorful citizen.

More information about Peter P "Rattlesnake Pete" Gruber is in the Cache box along with other goodies. If you have any other information or photos of Pete we would appreciate you sharing them with us.
