Safe Cycling (Foxton) Traditional Cache
paul303: went to check on this cache and it was still in tact. but as there is close activity in the construction of a new bridge i have decided to remove this cache

This cycle track was put in as a safety measure for cyclists as there is a high risk of getting swept under trucks, the cache can be accessed from both ends of the bridge. From the northern end you will be walking approx 500m through the spillway, when the flood gates are opened this is all full of water. From the southern end which is at ( bridges end cache) you will still have a 500m walk to the cache. When there, you will see where stones have bean laid to repair a part of the stop bank that was breached about 6 or 7 years back. causing wide spread flooding and lots of damage. cache is small with log only.
