Ammo can cache in a place I found both amusing and surprising.
Originally a matchsafe cache, I put in an ammo can, Spring 2017. Left the matchsafe, doubling the odds that there will be a log to sign.
My goodness, the amenities! true lux: both mud and a lake - if you define lake as, "wide place in the river that holds some water during drought". The 'gators like it, and hang out in large numbers. Swamp rats can hang out too. Whatever refreshments you want for your picnic, bring 'em. Reference and trailhead waypoints are for coming in from the east. I generally bike or hike in from the north.

Access from 471, this requires a brief and not obvious 'whack from the marked trail to old two track. See reference points below. You can come down from Green Swamp West, a bit over 4 miles on trail and two track, longer by bike. The shortest distance is from River park, crossing the Withlacoochee above the BSA camp, some wading and some bushwhacking in the crossing.
