We love I-5 but you’ll have to get off of it to access this cache. We also love historic US 99W and that, now called CR 99W in Yolo County, is the easiest way to access this cache.
See the photos with our log for July 11, 2012, for another reason to visit this cache. We don't know how long the free flowers last but we understand that they do it every year.
If you’re northbound on the interstate, take Exit 542 – Yolo. Turn right and then left to continue north on CR 99W.
If you’re southbound on the interstate, take Exit 548 – Zamora. Turn left over the highway and then right at the bottom of the overpass onto CR 99W to continue south toward Dufour and the cache.
The terrain rating of 2 is because it is safest to park at the bottom of the overpass and walk up along the side of the road. It has been suggested by a previous finder that you park on the north side of the overpass and not by the agricultural pumps. Please do that so that we do not incur the wrath of the farm community. It seems they have had lots of vandalism problems in the area. Remember to walk facing the oncoming traffic as pedestrians are an unusual species on county farm roads and you might be a surprise to the drivers.
