i thought of a couple good hides and the rails to trails hike and bike trail seemed like a good place to put them. right now rittman is pretty loaded with caches thanks to the phobia series and several other cachers. since i'm only a couple miles away i thought i'd join the party and put a couple out myself.
this was a last minute addition for me over here. i had the other two of my hides ready to go. as i was walking along the trail looking for there hidey holes, i had many rail road songs going through my mind. such classics like, i've been working on the rail road. casey jones, the wreck of the old 97 and john henry, all from one of my favorite country artist johnny cash. the last being the inspiration for this hide. so i found this place, came up with this camo and was ready to go with this bonus hide in no time.
at this location you will be looking for a appropriately well camoed bison tube. no room for trades or a writing implement, so please bring your own. an extraction tool could be handy as well. it is rail road appropriate. so it is nice to be on an old rail road bed, and to have a train track near by. some light bush whacking may be required, but not too much as the cache is not very far off of the trail. this trail can be very busy, at times. the night i placed it i had to wait several times to complete my hide. please remember there is an ACTIVE train track near by when searching for this and any other hide on this trail. i have taken care to not hide in a dangerous area, but you should always keep an eye on the little ones on this trail. i have also provided coordinates to a small parking area on blough rd near where the trail crosses.
