kvenator: The United States government intelligence community has been compromised. Spectre meddled with the US election, obtained blackmail worthy dirt on one candidate and some controversial communications involving the other one. Spectre released materials on the 2nd knowing if the turkey was elected, they could threaten to release the blackmail material if he didn't do what they wanted. Since the intelligence communities knew about all this already, the now president cut funding to the different intelligence agencies compromising them to the point where Spectre was able run rampant.
In a most devastating turn of events, Spectre re-obtained the launch codes for it's new rockets and is expected to blow up the world any time now. All MI6 agents are dead.
The Joint Chiefs have raised the Defcon level to 1. The highest level. Nuclear war is imminent.
