Sjællands Kirker - Gentofte Church

Gentofte kirke er den ældste kirke i Gentofte kommune og stammer helt tilbage fra 1100-tallet - sandsynligvis omkring 1176.
Efter den tid har kirken gennemgået flere om- og tilbygninger. Kirketårnet kom til omkring 1500-tallet og soluret i tårnet viser årstallet 1774.
Kirken er bygget på en gammel kirkegård.

ENG:
Gentofte church is the oldest church in the municipality of Gentofte and dates all the way back to around 1100 - probably around 1176.
Since then the church has had multiple buildings added. The church tower was built around year 1500 and the sundial on the church tower shows the year 1774.
The church is built on an old cemetary.
