Growing up in New Jersey, conventional wisdom among the kids I knew was that if one was to dig a hole straight down from where we were, that person would end up in China.
Fast forward some years, and I decided to give it a try. I packed my backpack with plenty of water (it gets hot in the mantle and core of the Earth), donned my asbestos underwear, and gathered my best pick and shovel. I dug straight down and eventually ended up... somewhere. Where? Check the given waypoint.
Since I wasn't where I expected, I went back home through my tunnel, filling it in on my way back home (I did such a good job cleaning up after myself, you would never even know the tunnel had ever existed). When I resurfaced, I commemorated my trip by hiding a geocache right where I started.
