Birkerød kirke stammer tilbage fra 1100-tallet. Dengang var den bygget i kampesten. Senere er den blevet ombygget og tilbygget flere gange - det meste i 1400-tallet. Kirketårnet stod færdigt i 1475.

Birkerød kirke er berømt for sine kalkmalerier, der stammer fra perioden 1325-1350.

ENG:
Birkerød dates back to year 1100. At that time the church was built primarily in boulders. Later on it was rebuilt and more buildings were added - mostly around year 1400. The church tower was finished in 1475.

Birkerød church is best known for its murals - dating back to the period 1325-1350.
