Geocache Description:

This cache was placed for the 3rd Annual Yankton Spring Caching Event and made available to those attending prior to its publication.

Another kid friendly cache. Again, park safely on the shoulder of the road and watch your children. Nothing too difficult about this cache. The container was full of SWAG at the time of placement.

The town of Mission Hill has a total area of 0.3 square miles. As of the 2000 Census, there were 183 people.

According to a collection of historical articles compiled by local writer Bob Karolevitz in his book "Yankton: The Way It Was" the Vangen Lutheran Church located just east of Mission Hill was built in 1869. This was the first Lutheran church in Dakota Territory and today is the oldest still standing in North and South Dakota.

Enjoy!
