inkanorge: Unfortunately this location has become a popular spot for kids to frequent. Each time we've gone to perform maintenance there are some nearby watching and as a recent test we left a new container with log and returned the next day. It had been removed and we were unable to locate it.

At this time it's best to disable/archive the cache as repeated attempts to perform maintenance will be unsuccessful.

Geocache Description:

An easy find just off the main trail.

My son found this interesting tree while we were out for a hike after the winter thaw. He said that the way the limb had grown out of the trunk made it look like an elephant. Hence the name he chose for the cache.

Recently, my son got his Geocaching badge from Cub Scouts and wanted to publish the cache that he prepared. He figured that this would be a great place as it's near our house so he can keep an eye on it but also add to the available caches in the area.

The co-ord's were taken with the leaves down but I chose an area to mark from that should offer an unobstructed signal year round. The tree this is based on is fairly obvious once you get near it. There is a bench you can see on the trail as you near the location. To the right of the bench is a ridge that can be followed to the final co-ord's which is the easiest route.

The cache contains small tradeables and a logbook. Please bring something to log your visit with and re-hide in exact location. I've added the waypoint for parking area nearby.
