Geocache Description:

Bad Co-ordinates :

You are searching for an un-specified cache container hidden along a "Summer Road". During Winter or wet conditions in Summer you may be required to hike from the nearest all weather road to GZ (approximately 500 meters). The cache contains a log scroll only Please bring your favourite cache writing utensil. Cache retrieval tools may be required. Replace the cache exactly as found and do not provide others with hints or "spoilers"

We have all experienced the dreaded "DNF" after spending considerable time and effort to locate an elusive hide. One of the most common reasons noted in DNF Logs is "Bad co-ordinates". So just what is meant by this term ?? is it the fault of your GPS device? That of the cache hiders GPS? Most cachers are convinced that they have the most accurate GPS device on the market, right?? Perhaps it is the fault of conditions at GZ, nearby power lines, weather conditions, heavy foliage, or Sun spots??

GPS manufacturers like to brag that their device is the most accurate or aquires signals the fastest. Most will specify an instrument accuracy of 3 meters. You must remember that this would be in ideal conditions and not attainable 100% of the time. Perhaps a more realistic field accuracy would be 5 meters?? When you zero out at a cache you may well be out by a total of 10 meters. Remember the Cache hider may be + 5 meter from the actual cache location while your GPS may be -5 meters from the actual cache location?? This is probably where ones geo-senses are required..

This cache's co-ordinates were determined using an extremely accurate GPS which routinely registers (or boasts) and accuracy of 2 meters. The co-ordinates were double checked with our back-up GPS and readings were further triple checked during several site visits using both GPS's. You therefore should have no problems finding the cache?? Hmmmm that is a bold statement even for Inspector LaPep. Trust your GPS and then as the Inspector is fond of saying.. "Use your head and then your eyes"..

Good luck and thanks for caching with us.. Remember this cache was placed for the SCAR2012 Event (Saskatoon Cache and Release), and should not be sought out until after 5:30pm on May 25th, 2012 and any logs before that date/time will be deleted...
