Geocache Description:

NOTE: There is construction in the field between Norwich and Howard. It does not affect this cache. Its not in the field :)

Welcome! This cache is my first cache and was placed with the help of a couple of my granddaughters (who kindly donated some of the initial swag).

This cache is located on private property that is owned by me and permission for placing and accessing the cash is hereby granted.

This cache can be a TB hotel if desired. It is only blocks from the Howard AV exit off of I-94 so is easily accessible. Currently there is no southbound on-ramp due to the ongoing construction. If you are unfamiliar with the area and need to re-access southbound I-94, take 6th ST north to Holt, go right (east) and you will find interstate entrance signs a block away.

Please note that its marked as all season (winter), but may be covered with snow but will be easily reachable. Well, unless it snows like 1989 in which case nothing is reachable and you won't be looking for it anyway :)

Congratulations:

Rules:
- The initial cache contents are kid friendly. Keep your swag, TB and Geocoin drops as well as log entries kid friendly as well.

- This is a residential area so if you visit late at night please respect the area's quietness. Evening and night visits may well be some of the best times to come with fewer muggles present.

- If you take a geocoin from the cache, replace it with another one!

- Please park on Norwich between 5th Pl and 6th st. There is plenty of parking there. If you park on the north side of Norwich there will be no crossing streets to access the cache by sidewalk, safe for kids!

- If you are handicapped or movement restricted, please feel free to park curbside near the cache. Wheelchair access via several driveways.

- There is a port-a-potty on the corner of Norwich and 6th ST. Its not guaranteed to be available all winter.

WARNING!
This is a residential area and many muggles likely to be present! Use stealth as much as possible. Many summer Saturdays will have a budding farmer's market on Norwich and might be a good time to visit as you will blend in with all the out of area folks. Not all the kids are in the area muggles though, you might well meet one of my granddaughters or their friends who are cachers too!

Local Area:
While you are here. take a look around and you will notice you are in sight of the Town of Lake water tower up on 6th ST at the end of Norwich. The town of Lake was established in January of 1838. As time passed portions were annexed and on April 6, 1954, Milwaukee annexed the final portion of the Town of Lake and it ceased to exist.

The water tower was built as part of FDR's Public Works Administration in 1938 and would have been the town hall and water tower. Its a wonderful example of the Art Deco style of building construction so bring your camera.

In 2001, the internal tank (no longer needed by the water works next door) was removed and only the upper dome remains. The interior was converted to municipal offices.

Robert A. Anderson's name was attached to it as a memorial. He had nothing to do with its construction or preservation as far as I can tell.

Edit 4/1/2012 - Added FTF,STF and TTF nicks.
