This is a large clip and lock container, with swapables. There are steps down from the layby.
England’s second largest lake and sits amidst the splendour of some of the finest fells in Lakeland. It is also the setting for William Wordsworth’s famous “Daffodils” poem. Ullswater was formed after the last ice age when a glacier scooped out the valley floor and when the glacier retreated, the deepened section filled with meltwater which became a lake. For much of its length Ullswater forms the border between the ancient counties of Cumberland and Westmorland.
From this location there are wonderful views of the lake and surrounding fells, including Hallin Fell. This is 203 of Wainwright’s 214 Lakeland fells. Wainwright famously claimed that the southern side could be "ascended comfortably in bare feet".
In a lovely but popular area of Ullswater, please ensure care is taken when looking, finding and re hiding this cache. the previous was muggled so hopefully a small change will help prolong the cache's existance. please replace as found (well covered!).
