This cache is placed near Douglas Falls, one of the most beautiful and photogenic waterfalls in the State.
What's this, a short hike from 89SC? Those of you who know my caches know that a short hike has to be made up by some other penalty. This cache will involve a different kind of climbing than my Big Run Waterfall cache. It was placed without any special equipment but notice the terrain rating. The terrain is easy except for the end. The log must be signed to claim this cache. The cache is placed above the falls but make sure you go on down the trail for a look at the falls. The road to Douglas Falls is actually the old rail bed of an abandoned railroad. It is rough and has some large pot holes/small ponds on it. It passes through an area of old coke ovens and by Albert Falls. I've provided low clearance parking coordinates which is as far as my Fiesta can make it and high clearance parking coordinates. Just past the low clearance parking, you'll see Albert Falls right along the road. To get to the high level coordinates, you have to drive across an old trestle. Your vehicle will need larger tires for that, there are some gaps in the ties. I have seen Subaru station wagons on the other side. You can get close to the cache from the high clearance parking and the low clearance parking is less than a half mile away.
Update: The road has been repaired and graveled till just past Albert Falls.
Update, 09/23/2017, The road is getting bad again, lots of holes. The cache is now log only, bring your own pen. It's still small size, not a micro.
