This cache is named after a location from one of my favorite Disney movies. It reminds me of a mini version of pride rock from the movie. The vantage point from this rock is quite panoramic. Looking out over the rolling hills below dotted with pine and oak, with high canyon walls in the distance. From this rock I can picture Rafiki hoisting Simba high into the air.
The cache is approximately .74 miles from the parking area as the crow flies. The entire trek can be made via the FS road except for the last 260ft along a small footpath. So this could be hiked or biked. I would consider this a medium hike that would be fun for the entire family. Make sure you bring plenty of water for your hike. Also bring your camera along for those scenic landscape shots and if the bighorn sheep herds are in the area.
