Clermont Crossing - Jeep Eagle Traditional Cache
Clermont Crossing - Jeep Eagle
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
THE CACHE IS NOT IN THE WALL LEAVE IT ALONE. The cache is a small container, placed near the summit of Clermont at a point which facilities a quick crossing into Northern Ireland.
Your approach to this cache will determine how hard it is. If you go from the closest point on the road using "Route One" be prepared for a slog through the undergrowth (once it recovers from the fire damage) and a steeper approach. For a more pleasant route following the Tain Way until it reaches the fence and then turn left instead of right as the trail does. In places along the trail, especially after rain it can be quite boggy and I definitely needed proper hiking boots the day I placed it. With all hill walking you should go prepared for the worst. Weather can change quickly and accidents can happen, so dress appropriately, preferably don't walk alone and always let someone at home know where you're going.
