Dochart Brick & Tile Works Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

maymacarn: Checking on the DNF ... No wonder ... Any paths that were there when I first hid are way overgrown. I didn't have any fun getting to the cache, so I'm archiving.

Geocache Description:

Cache is placed behind the Malloch Road Cemetery in Sandy Hook, just on the fringe of Arnprior.

beside the Dochart Creek there are still remnants of a clay brick factory and mine which was in operation from 1868-1983. this is taken from web page (visit link)

"In 1929 the face was 400 feet long and 60 feet deep. The material was red-burning marine clay. Stratified marine clay and silts, in places topped with sand are found in the valley of Dochert Creek. These deposits are part of the Champlain clays."

"1868-1947: W. Baker - in production. 1947-1980: in production for clay tiles 1980-1983: Dochart Clay Products - in production; producing flower pots, wine coolers, brick granules"

Great place to explore and of course hide a cache. Container is a large cammo'd peanut butter jar. Have fun!

Congratulations to thoselowes on FTF!!
