This Rink Rat is placed at the Aitken Center at UNB in a potentially high traffic area so please use stealth when searching. Cache contains a log and you will need your own writing stick, container can also hold small traders. Please replace as found and out of the wandering eyes of those that wish to rid the place of rats
The Aitken University Centre (AUC)- University of New Brunswick's Multi Purpose facility opened in May of 1976 with the University Spring Encaenia and followed by a sell out Anne Murray Concert
The AUC has hosted in excess of 3,500 major ticketed Events during the past 28 years. Owned and Managed privately by the University of New Brunswick, the Centre has played the role of the Municipal Civic Centre for the greater Fredericton region for all of those years.
The Aitken University Centre is widely used by the University community. It is home to the UNB Varsity Reds men's and women's hockey teams. Campus Recreation through its Intramural hockey program and various sport clubs is the other major user of the facility. Other useful features include a classroom and a new high performance training centre.
In 1995 the Centre completed renovations in excess of $1.1 million which included new hockey boards and glass, extensive painting, new arena seats, new orchestra elegant chairs, improvements to the sound system, box office and lobby enhancements, paving, roof maintenance, a $40,000 theatre curtain for intimate performances, press and media accommodations, disabled seating areas were designed, new house signage and seating exit curtains. The AUC is also a No Smoking facility with designated outside smoking.
