BSA Troop 309: First Aid

During his scouting journey, many first aid skills are required to be learned. Some of these basic skills include:

Cuts and scrapes, blisters, nosebleeds, animal bites, insect bites, identifying poisonous plants and treatment if contact is made, objects in the eye, puncture wounds.

Advanced skills include:
Choking, burns, dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, shock, frostbite, hypothermia, sprains and strains, rescue breathing, treatment for poisoning, severe bleeding, knowing the warning signs of a heart attack, broken bones (splints and slings).
