Geocache Description:

Kayaking has gained popularity since the 1990's, but did you know that the kayak style of boating is said to be about 4,000 years old.

Seems the Eskimos were the first builders of kayaks and the material they used mostly consisted of seal or other animal skins stretched over whalebone or wood type frames.

Here is some trivia for you ... the term word "kayak" means "man's boat" or "hunter's boat"? This term, of course, stemmed for the original use of the boat by the Eskimo men for hunting food.

Today kayaks have evolved and are a wonderful way for man, women or child to get outside and enjoy while explorering nature in a more manual manner then loud motor boats.

Kayaks also let you get into smaller strems and even whitewater rapids. Likewise, there are many types of kayaks, sea kayaks, whitewater kayaks, surf kayaks, racing kayaks, fishing kayaks, recreational kayaks, polo, slamon and sprint racing. You are sure to find one to suit your water sport interests.

At this spot you are by the crossroads to some really great kayaking spots, Center Hill Lake and the Caney Fork river.

So what are you waiting for ... GO KAYAKING!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! To JohnsonPVBFL and Family for FTF!!!!!!!!
