This cache is part of our "Tour de Park" series.
This series will take you on a tour of parks ranging from small "Block Parks" to "Neighborhood Parks" to the largest of the Tour: the "City Parks". Fairbanks is one of our four "City Parks". It is often the host to all kinds of cultural events ranging from car shows to the Wabash Valley Festival. Take a seat at this nice little picnic shelter and watch the Wabash flow by.

On many a summer evening the sounds of music or laughter can be heard drifting over Fairbanks Park. The Fairbanks Amphitheater, located in the middle of the park, is the home to much of this entertainment. This structure was renovated in 2002 and looks like it should be around for many years to come. When sitting as a spectator you will notice the stage area is supported by many columns of varying heights.
