Geocache Description:

竹内街道は日本書紀の推古天皇21年（613年）の条に「難波（大阪）より京（飛鳥）に至る大道（おおじ）を置く」と記されていた、日本最古の「官道」です。
竹内峠はこの最古の官道である竹内街道の大阪府と奈良県の間にある峠です。
古くはここに「うぐいすの関」があり、周囲には多くの茶屋などがあったそうです。
今は国道横にある、小さな公園として整備されています。

Takenouchi-road is the oldest national road in Japan.
Here is a mountain pass of this road between Osaka and Nara.
