The cache is situated beside the Church Path, which used to lead form Marpool Hall.
Phear Park takes it's name from Sir John Phear a victorian philanthropist who owned Marpool hall, which was situated where the bolwing club now stands. Marpool hall was occupied by American service men during the war prior to it being demolished in the 1950s. You can see the old stables for the house nearby, which is now occupied by the local authority, and the small-bore rifle club.
