Geocache Description:

This is a bushwhack of sorts. I don't think it's a difficult one though. If you pick your way around all the hard spots. Otherwise follow that needle and pray. If you are a needle follower be advised you will not need to cross the river. If you do be sure to post your track log and some pictures so we can enjoy it too. There will be times when you will not be able to walk to the cache but in those times a boat will probably take you right to it.

I had a boss, Bubba, that liked being a boss. He wanted to be the smart boss too. He also wanted us to know how smart he was. To demonstrate such overwhelming intelligence he liked to use big words. When he learned a new word you would hear it repeatedly throughout the conversation. In meetings his favorite was, apropos. I guess I should have been listening to whatever important message he was trying to convey but, apropos, distracted me. I pointed it out to friends which was a mistake. Now the mention of it caused them to turn and look at me which made it really hard to suppress the laughter. If the big kahuna found out we were making fun of him it would not have gone over well.

I started making it a game to use a big word when I spoke with him. Propensity, comes to mind. I had never heard him use it before so I used it in a conversation with him. I let my friends know so in the meeting we could see if he would use it. He did! I thought I was going to die.

Another friend used, repaginate. Who knows where he dug that one up. Bubba managed to use it three times in one paragraph. He barely had room for the apropos. Meetings with Bubba were just too fun.

My favorite is the name of this cache. He liked memos. Not as much fun as hearing himself talk but he must have enjoyed spreading the smartness. He sent a memo out about a quirk one of our navigation systems had. He finished the memo by saying, "This anomaly is normal". I guess it makes sense in the context of the memo but coming from Bubba it was a classic.

At GZ you will find a normal anomaly. It actually made me sit and wonder if I should put a cache there. I sat for some time thinking about it. Then called a friend. I guess as long as it is natural and I didn't do it it is OK.

To get there from the parking waypoint go east to the river. It is trail that far. Then take a left.
