Geocache Description:

very interesting story about this bridge that i was lucky enough to have it relayed to me by the driver of the truck. see below
There is a place to park right across the street from the cache. Use caution crossing the road it can be busy.

On the long weekend of September 2009 the Nine Mile River Vol. Fire Dept was responding to a mutual aid call for tanker support. There were three firefighter on board the tanker. As the firefighters to slowed down to turn into the Blois Road, they encountered a mechanical failure. The firetruck was on this bridge. The rear axle of the responding unit was coming apart from under the truck, the driver was doing everything to keep the tanker on the road.
Then the axle separated from the tanker: out the side of the truck.
The tanker levitated 5-7 feet in the air and went 90 degrees on the bridge shooting across the road ..almost rolling over ;coming to a rest on the far guard rail.
If you look you will notice the marks on the bridge were the Tanker hit the road and went 90 degrees into the guard rail.

One firefighter was sent to hospital and released that day, the other two firefighters were cleared medically from the scene.
