Geocache Description:

This is a micro cache located along the ditch bank of the road. Bring your own pencil.

This cache is located on the south-east corner of the Schaer farm, which is a centennial farm in 2012 (established in 1912).

There used to be a lime quarry and lime kiln behind this cache.

Then there was a one room school house up the hill to the west called the Lime Kiln School. The school was there during the late 1800s through about 1951. Students attended this school through when they graduated from the 8th grade, at which point they usually went to high school in Elgin. Children from the area (e.g. the Dummermuth, Miller, Helms, Schaer, Holms, Erhardt, Baachler, and Martie families) attended the school.
