Geocache Description:

This is my Weston-Wander...Part of my "Join 'em Up" Series

The Weston-Wander is about linking up with an early hide named "Water-Channelling"...which gets very few visitors: please help to change this!

This one is a nano (apologies)

The 6.5 mile circular route is on footpaths except for the last 0.75 or so miles which is on the road...a pleasant lane at the side of Kedleston Hall (NT). Please be careful because there are some blind bends, but there is not a great deal of traffic unless many visitors head to the Kedleston Estate (??) in summer.

I recommend - depending your fitness - starting in a clockwise direction, however this means you will have to climb a fairly steep hill to return to the car, when tired by the end: see Parking 1 & 2 way-points. Parking at each of these - be careful - for two to three cars, each.

Because of this I am intending placing two caches between the start of the road section and the car parking: to give you an incentive!

I guess you will have to climb somehow to regain the height from the valley and it may be a longer gentler climb anti-clockwise.

You will pass through the pleasant surroundings of the eponymous: Weston Underwood (W-W, geddit?) and there are views (on a good day) of Mugginton church etc. as you stroll nonchalantly through the fields to Water-Channelling...your objective...

I am assuming that you want to head from here to Water-Channelling so I have provided a number of useful waypoints including the key trailhead points, through Weston towards Kedleston and the village itself. THEY MAY BE WORTH USING. The first stile mentioned is a "feature" to keep you on track... presently it stands alone int he filed and you do nto need to use it at all...but it will keep you on the route. From here you climb up a wee hillock...take it steady you will notice it! The next reference point should assist you to find the way out of the field etc and to hit the stile to the road back into Weston
