Mūsu senču tradicionālie reliģiskie priekšstati atainoti folklorā, kur mitoloģiskās hierarhijas augstāko pakāpienu ieņem Pērkons un Māra. Dažkārt šos tēlus tulko kā Dieva vīrišķo un sievišķo aspektu, pēc analoģijas ar "Iņ" un "Jaņ" Austrumu tradīcijā. Tālāk tradicionālajā hierarhijā seko likteņa lēmējas Laima, Dēkla, Kārta, tad dabas spēku Mātes un citi tēli.
Savukārt kristietības pamatā ir doktrīna par Trīsvienīgu Dievu kā vienotu būtni, kuru veido trīs dievišķas personas — Dievs Tēvs, Dievs Dēls un Svētais gars. Vēsturiski ideja par vienotu būtni, kas sevī apvieno trīs vīriešu kārtas personas, nav jauna, tā ir sastopama arī pirmskristiānisma kultūrās.
Interesanti, ka mūsu senči, iedibinot nācijai svarīgu Ordeni, par tā patroniem izvēlējās gluži citu Trīsvienību, vēloties izveidot jaunu Panteonu. Šie vīriešu kārtas tēli no aizlaiku vēstures teiksmām simbolizēja krietnus tikumus un iemiesoja viena Dieva dažādus aspektus. Tēlus iemūžināt aicināja diženu latvju Meistaru, kura darbi arvien tiek turēti augstā godā. Laika gaitā Ordenis ir zaudējis sākotnējo nozīmi. Tomēr darbs tika izpildīts vislabākajā veidā, un par spīti dramatiskajiem vēstures līkločiem šie vīri arvien cēli nolūkojas rīdzinieku ikdienas gaitās.

[EN] A Pantheon is a group of Gods or a temple for them.
As we know from traditional Latvian folklore, at the first position was placed two highest-ranking gods: Pērkons (Thunder) and Māra. Some historians imagine them as the alternate sides of the one Good (like in Yin and Yang). All others traditional mythological items followed after them — Laima, Dēkla, Kārta (goddess of fate), then Mothers of Winds, Seas and Forest, and then other smaller gods.
The Christianity is based on the doctrine of the Trinity, who defines God as three divine persons. Within the nature of the One True God, there simultaneously exists three eternal Persons, namely God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Interesting to know that we can trace the history of this doctrine, and discover its source more earlier that Christian revelation, for example, in the ideas of the later Platonists.
However, it is important to remember that long time ago our ancestors after deep researches in history of Balts try founded a New Pantheon — they had choose and honoured the another Triad of Gods from Romovo sanctuary as guardians of the very special Society. This Triad of Gods was chosen to symbolise how important this Society is for our nation. This still is oldest Latvian organization in the world, and long time it had an outstanding role in the culture of our nation.
Gods there was immortalized by the great latvian Master, his famous works You can see in Riga museums still nowadays. Despite the dramatic twists of history, symbolic significance of this Triad is not lost yet and these Art Nouveau style men still carefully monitoring our daily lives. The large, silver-plated owl fibulae were widespread in the territory populated by the Balt tribes (Letgallians, Semigallians and Courlanders) in the second half of the Middle Iron Age (8th and 9th centuries) and were used for fastening men's clothing. As the process was rather labour-consuming, outstanding craftsmanship skills were required for producing them. Owl fibulae have been found in the burial grounds of rich persons and could be considered an object of prestige at that time.
