This cache has been archived.

oldtrailsmuseum: This cache has been stolen for the third time in three months, so we are permanently disabling it. We're so sorry to have to do this to our most popular cache, but we don't have the resources to replace it once a month. Please enjoy the Old Trails Museum's other caches, which are hidden in places less visible to muggles.

Geocache Description:

This cache includes a logbook/pencil, historic images, and “First to Find” prize. It’s located on private property with the owner's permission, but beware of muggles! Bojo’s parking lot was once the site of the Standard Station, one of many full-service gas stations along U.S. Route 66 in its heyday from 1926 through the 1960s, and seen here in the 1940s. Bojo’s itself was formerly Bruchman’s Curio Shop, owned by one of the area’s prominent trading post families. Second image: Look east on Second Street/Historic Route 66 to see the same view as in this 1940s image. Cache/images courtesy of the Old Trails Museum/Winslow Historical Society (www.oldtrailsmuseum.org). This cache is part of the Historic AZ 66 Geocaching Project (www.AZ66Geocaching.com), a series coordinated by the Historic Route 66 Association of Arizona and designated an Arizona Centennial Legacy Project by the Arizona Historical Advisory Commission.
