Geocache Description:


馬坂川は京田辺市の体育館近くから木津川に流れ込み、淀川、大阪湾に至る１級河川です。１級河川（この場合は淀川）に流れ込み河川は細くても１級河川になります。
この川は天井川（てんじょうがわ）となっていて家々の屋根より高いところを流れていたり、川の下をトンネルで鉄道や道路が通っていたりします。このトンネルを「マンボ」と呼んでいますが、これは天井川を幔幕と見ると、トンネルはその幔幕に開いた「幔門（まんもん）」と見え、これが訛ったものではないかと考えられます。
天井川とは、砂礫の堆積により河床（川底）が周辺の平面地よりも高くなった川です。川に堤防が作られ、氾濫がなくなると、河床に堆積した土砂の上を川が流れるようになり、次第に河床が上昇して天井川になります。
キャッシュには北側か西側から近づいて下さい。
