Geocache Description:

South Stirling is a small community located 75km south east of Albany in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. It is situated at the foot of the Stirling Ranges, a range of mountains and hills over 60 km wide from west to east, stretching from the highway between Mount Barker and Cranbrook eastward past Gnowangerup, and also the Stirling Range National Park. Other close towns are Mount Barker, Wellstead, and Manypeaks. The town was gazetted in 1959.

The hall was established in 1961, so is comparatively young, but has served its purpose as a community centre for many activities, including the old time dances in the sixties after it was opened. Today, along with other activities, it is an active playgroup centre for young parents and their children to enjoy themselves.

Right next door is an interesting looking Anglican church, Church of the Good Shepherd, which was opened in 1973.

There are scratchies for the first to find, and you will need to bring your own pen. Please return the cache carefully after you have logged your find so it stays muggle-free. Have fun!
