La cache si trova presso Vercio, un alpeggio dal quale si gode un bellissimo panorama sul Lago di Mergozzo e il Golfo Borromeo. E’ inoltre presente un piccolo e romantico santuario
Tenete presente che in questo luogo ha sede un eremo religioso a cui ormai appartengono gran parte delle baite e del pianoro erboso, vi accorgerete subito con quale attenzione e dedizione le persone che scelgono di passarvi un periodo in solitudine mantengono i prati e le piante, per questo motivo vi invito ad avere il massimo rispetto di ciò che vi circonda (mi raccomando il luogo dove è nascosta la cache!), evitare rumori inutili e comportamenti “fuori dalle righe”. So di persone che sono state invitate ad uscire dalla proprietà da zelanti “giardinieri”.
E’ possibile arrivare alla cache in vari modi, ve ne descriverò tre. In tutti i casi indossate scarponcini da montagna (o scarpe da tennis alte ma solo per i primi due itinerari), abbigliamento adeguato e portatevi una sufficiente scorta d’acqua e di cibo. In estate scegliete le ore mattutine (più fresche).
1.
Partenza dalla località Alpe Ompio (in realtà Ruspesso). Sia che proveniate da Verbania Intra o dall’autostrada, a Verbania Fondotoce seguite le indicazioni per San Bernardino Verbano e poi Santino. Al waypoint1 svoltate a sinistra seguendo la comoda strada di montagna che vi porterà direttamente al punto di partenza (waypoint2). Il sentiero da prendere si trova a sinistra della mappa del Parco Nazionale Val Grande posta alla fine della strada asfaltata (su una betulla è comunque presente una freccia indicatrice). Il sentiero è evidente ma non ben segnato, comunque è difficile sbagliare. In un’ora circa raggiungerete Vercio dopo aver percorso 100 mt di dislivello in discesa. E’ la via ideale se non volete faticare troppo o partite un po’ tardi…

Partenza da Bracchio nei pressi di Mergozzo (VB). Lasciate l’auto dopo il cimitero all’imbocco del paese e raggiungete a piedi il waypoint3. Da qui parte una mulattiera di montagna che sale per 600 mt fino a Vercio (2 – 2,5 ore). Questo è il percorso ideale per chi ama camminare e fare un po’ di “sana fatica”.

Potreste, effettuando un giro ad anello, da Ruspesso (waypoint2) salire al Monte Faiè e cercare la cache che è li nascosta, poi proseguire alla Colma di Vercio (waypoint4), quindi scendere all’Alpe Vercio e, seguendo al contrario il sentiero descritto al punto 1, tornare all’auto (600 mt di ascesa accumulata).
Vi consiglio di seguirlo nel senso da me indicato in quanto la salita da Vercio all’omonima Colma è davvero ripida (in estate sareste inoltre esposti al sole in quanto metà percorso è fuori dalla copertura vegetazione).
Il nascondiglio della cache è intuibile MA essendoci parecchie possibilità vi chiedo di rimettere a posto accuratamente tutto ciò che spostate nella ricerca. Essendo vicino al piccolo santuario potrebbero esserci babbani nei dintorni, ATTENZIONE!
Mi raccomando rimettete a posto bene la cache in quanto il colore argento potrebbe renderla facilmente rintracciabile! Consiste in una scatola di alluminio che contiene: logbook, 3 matite, temperino, foglio di avviso (tutti da non asportare) e un container per una microcache vuoto (questo è per voi).
Per piacere rimettetela a posto accuratamente in posizione VERTICALE, ABBIATE RISPETTO DELLA FATICA DELLE PERSONE CHE HANNO COSTRUITO LI’!!! NON DEVASTATE O DISTRUGGETE – GRAZIE

The cache is located at Vercio, a pasture which offers a beautiful view of Lake Mergozzo and the Borromeo Gulf. There is also a little romantic sanctuary
Keep in mind that this place is located a religious retreat which now belong most of the huts and the grassy plateau, you'll soon realize how attention and dedication the people who choose to spend a period alone keep to lawns and plants. That is why I invite you to have the utmost respect for your surroundings (I recommend the place where the cache is hidden!), to avoid unnecessary noise and behavior "outside the lines". I know people who were asked to leave the property by zealous "gardeners".
You can reach the cache in various ways, here I describe three. In all cases wear walking boots (or sneakers high but only for the first two routes), suitable clothing and bring a sufficient supply of water and food. In summer, choose early morning hours (cooler).
1.
Check out the locality Alpe Ompio (actually Ruspesso). Whether you come from the highway or from Verbania Intra, at Verbania Fondotoce follow the signs for San Bernardino Verbano and then Santino. Waypoint1 to turn left and follow the easy mountain road that takes you right to the point of departure (waypoint2). The path to take is to the left of the map of the Val Grande National Park just down the road (on a birch there is an arrow indicator). The trail is not well marked but clear, however, is hard to go wrong. You can reach Vercio in about an hour after a 100 meters of descent walking. This is the perfect trail if you do not want to sweat too much or if you leave late...

Departure from Bracchio near Mergozzo (VB). Leave the car after the cemetery into the town and walk to the waypoint3. From here starts a trail that climbs the mountain for 600 meters until Vercio (2 - 2.5 hours). This is the ideal location for walking and do some of “healthy fatigue".

You could, making a loop from Ruspesso (waypoint2) go up to Mount Faiè and look for the hidden cache that is there, then go to the Colma Vercio (waypoint4), and then down to Alpe Vercio, reversing the path described in step 1, back to your car (600 meters of ascent accumulated).
I recommend you follow in the direction indicated by me as the climb from Vercio to the homonymous “Colma” (dip) is really steep (in summer you would be further exposed to the sun because it is halfway out of the vegetation cover).
The hiding of the cache is understandable BUT there are several possibilities, I ask you to put away carefully everything that moved in the search. It is close to the small shrine so could be muggles around, WARNING!
I recommend it back into place the cache well as the silver color would make it easy to trace! It consists of an aluminum box that contains: logbook, 3 pencils, sharpener, sheet warning (do not remove all) and a container for a microcache empty (this is for you).
Please put it back in place carefully in a VERTICAL position, HAVE RESPECT FOR FATIGUE OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE MADE THEM '! NO DEVASTATE OR DESTROY - THANKS
