A little math may help you learn the offset.
The posted coords get you to the starting place, but you can put the GPSr away after you get there. The given coords are close enough. I left a pile of rocks near the starting point. I even drew a big X on a rock. The actual starting point is the northeastern most corner under the bridge.
I couldn't shoot the coords where the cache is actually located. So, you need to a a little math dealing with a right triangle.
As a refresher, a right triangle is any triangle (a two dimensional shape with three sides) where two adjacent sides, called the legs, intersect to form a 90 degree angle. The angles of the other two vertices are determined by the length of the legs. Or is it that the angles of the two vertices determine the length of the legs?
The area of the right triangle is calculated by halving the product of the leg lengths. Given a right triangle has legs of length 3 and 4 then our right triangle has area of 3 * 4 * 1/2 = 6.
The side opposite the right angle is the hypotenuse. The length of the hypotenuse is determined by the Pythagorean theorem: (a*a) + (b*b) = (c*c) where a and b are the leg lengths and c is the hypotenuse length. For the given triangle, the hypotenuse has length = (3*3) + (4*4) = (c*c) = 9 + 16 = 25 => (c*c) = 25 => c = sqrt(25) => c = 5 (Sorry for the lack of mathematical symbols).
This all assumes that the units are the same for the legs. For my triangle, the sides have different units, but the properties remain the same.
The base of the triangle is 2 "P" units. The height of the triangle is 8 "I" units. Calculating the area and the hypotenuse length may or may not be needed to find the container. The container will be found using a plumb line at the one of the vertices giving you the vertical alignment.
There are lots of places this cache could be. It may or may not be helpful to know, but you are looking for a mini m&m container that has some magnetic properties. I'll even tell you that this container is pink and that the surroundings are not pink. The container may be attached to something metal, but it also might be hiding under a rock, or, well there are so many other places to hide it. Just because it is magnetic does not mean that the magnetism is a helpful property for this cache.
DO NOT PARK ON THE ROAD. A lot of semi trucks and other vehicular traffic pass this way. Please park off the northeast shoulder.
Make sure you check out the bird nests made of mud on the opposite side of the creek on the bridge support.
