Urban cache located in Norwich, highlighting what used to be the Galley Hill pub.
Opened in November 1929.
The pub name is reputed to refer to sometime local landowners, the Galley family. This would nullify the idea that gallows were ever erected on the site.
Closed in 2005. Now a beauty salon.
Standing at the co-ordinates, you are in front of the building which still stands.
The cache is a concealed nano.
Bring your own pen to sign the log.
Did you drink here?
For anyone interested, feel free to expand the series to other lost pubs you may have known elsewhere in Norwich or beyond. Just match the cache title "Spirits of Pubs Past - (Pub name)" and you're away.
Cheers!
