Geocache Description:

The aim of the Secret Swindon caches is to bring people to areas of interest or importance within the town. So often we are too busy with day to day life that we stop to look and see the world around us and learn a little more about it. Please bring your own pen and re-hide the caches well so they can’t be spotted from any angle. The numbering of the Secret Swindon caches relate to the order in which they were placed and may not necessarily be the order in which you would wish to complete them.

This area affords great views of Swindon and the cache is located between two sets of stones, one over at the end of Sarsen Close (continue up the footpath) and one slighly down the hill at The Heights flat block. There is a large horizonal stone on the footpath, but look around and there are a series of similar sized ancient stones around the area. Local historians have speculated this is part of an ancient stone site and also that this area was once a private estate with a large house occupying the prime position with lawns, swimming baths and tennis courts spanning the land leading down to Kingshill.
