Old Achna View Traditional Cache
TheSwampWitch: I'm not sure this one was such a good idea. It's a nice place to pause for a minute or 2 to look at the view but perhaps not the best place to be poking around with a GPS.

You can park quite close to this cache and a small climb up the rock will give you a clear view of the adandoned village of Achna. The cache is in a medium sized clear plastic tub. Contains log book and a few swaps for kids.
Prior to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, Achna was an exclusively Greek Village, with the main industry supporting it being the growing of potatoes in red, iron rich soil which surrounded it. In 1974 some days after the official ceasefire it was occupied by Turkish troops and the inhabitants were displaced. The village was plundered as is currently uninhabited. This cache is placed near one of the only places you can see the abandoned village.
**Please note this cache is close to the Turkish border which is marked by a thin single wired fence that should not be crossed!**
