This is one of 36 Girl Scout geocaches that will be placed in Nassau County representing the 36 Girl Scout Councils in the county.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting. For my own Gold Award, I thought it would be a great idea to use geocaching to showcase other girl's Gold Awards.
Katherine Callaghan, from Valley Stream, earned her Gold Award by beautifying Valley Stream North High School in 2009 by getting different groups involved. The beautification resulted in improvement in school spirit, and stopping of throwing trash in beds. Later that year, the school’s drama club used the courtyard for their Shakespeare Night.
