Geocache Description:

1litre sistema hidden in a local park, designed for children.

The QCWA (Queensland Country Women's Association) celebrates 90 years in 2012. Formed in 1922 as a non-political, non-sectarian organisation for women who derived their income from the land, it has since widened to include all women. A plaque in the park tells us it was placed there to commemorate 75 years of QCWA, and at the request of the Nerang Branch. Women support each other and their community, share and learn skills, and raise funds for various causes. In many towns you will see a CWA Hall. Sometimes the CWA is the only place you can find fast-disappearing skills like tatting (huh?) and there's no cooking show as good as a CWA cookbook. But it's about more than cooking, and this cache is to remind us just how resourceful a country woman can be; in child rearing, farming, catering, making clothing or making friendships. Children are welcome at this cache. Aussie Liahona leapt to the challenge of FTF, Mrs Aussie having become something of a country woman herself as she and Aussie Bob range across the country, fighting lantana, collecting cache finds and making geocaching friends. Also good as a PAF to many cachers, that voice at the other end of the phone that County Women need to hear.
