Center Line CITO @ the Hennig Preserve Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

cdparker1: Thank you for all that attended this event even with the threat of rain. Mother Nature was on our side, holding off until the very end of the event. Also, I need to thank those that have continued to help out with getting rid of the tires well after the event. The stewards and staff of Saratoga P.L.A.N. really appreciated all the work that we were able to do in such a short period of time with the amount of people that we had. Thank you all again for a very successful, "last-minute" CITO event.

Geocache Description:

Center Line CITO @ the Hennig

Come join us a day before the official Earth Day to help clean up the Henning Preserve and the area that surrounds it. With the cooperation of both the Town of Providence and the Saratoga PLAN, we will be helping to clean up what others have left behind. Once the work is completed, attendees can enjoy the preserve, the caches, or the company of others. This is a potluck event so please bring something to share with others. To make this part as green as possible, please refrain from bottled water or throw away flatware, etc. We would like to pick up the garbage, not make more.

”On August 20th 2011, Saratoga P.L.A.N. officially opened the 606-acre Hennig Preserve in the Town of Providence. Bob Hennig and Penny Steffen, Barbara Hennig and the late Mally Sue Bleikamp Hennig lovingly cared for this property for over 50 years. They donated the property to Saratoga P.L.A.N in August 2010..”

The property is still undergoing trail maintenance as well as some cleaning. Please excuse them while they work to beautify this land for all to enjoy.

Dogs are welcome but need to be leashed.

For more information about this and other Saratoga P.L.A.N. preserves and projects, please visit: Saratoga P.L.A.N.

In the interest of being as green as possible, we will try to limit the amount of garbage bags utilized in cleaning up the area. If you have a bucket (hardware and automotive stores carry these) please bring it. A preliminary scan of the area indicates this may be a tire gathering event!

The event will run from 10am-2pm or until we are satisfied with our work or too tired to play anymore!
