Geocache Description:

Terrier Tribute #5 Wire Fox
Palomino Loop Trail

One in a series celebrating the irrepressible terrier group. Matching them with West Linn’s wonderful parks is a natural fit.

Always ready to spring into action at the slightest provocation, the Wire Fox terrier is a typical terrier. Active, friendly and playful, the breed is highly trainable. They are predominantly white in color with black or tan markings and possess a dense, wiry coat. Originally in the same category as the Smooth Fox Terrier, the breeds became separate in 1984.

The 1.2 mile long Palomino Loop Trail travels through green belts in this suburban area. This segment is through forested area with some big trees and some pretty good ups and downs. Due to the elevation changes and steep, sloped sections in places, this is not the easiest hiking, but the walk is not long. If it has been rainy, a few spots might be somewhat slippery. Retrieving this cache takes a short hike from the closest parking point, longer if you enter elsewhere. GPS can be bouncy in the trees here.

Stocked with some swag, and for the first finder, a hand-made brass Wire Fox Terrier FTF Prize. Please replace cache carefully, and right side up!

Congrats and a wag of the terrier tail to Mishka1 for the FTF!
