This has a higher terrain rating due to having to step across a stream. After reading The Biffas and Two Tykes logs we thought we better clarify that the crossing is at the top not the bottom of the waterfall. Care needs to be taken but it’s worth it for the view of the Waterfall. We wouldn’t advise taking young children to find this cache.
After finding SWW#3 The Stile, continue along the bridleway. Just before the farm, on the right hand side, climb the ladder stile (this could be difficult for dogs); take the public footpath at the side of the farm not the footpath towards Coley. Sheep or rams are often present in this field. Walk down the hill and over the wooden bridge. By now you may be able to hear the waterfall but not yet see it. As an alternative route after heavy rain or if you don't fancy stepping across the stream, turn right at the stile near the farm, signposted to Coley. Continue to the next stile. Immediately after crossing this stile turn left on an unmarked path at the edge of the woods. The path then bares left towards the Waterfall cache. It would then be necessary to retrace your steps back to the stile near the farm. This would add approx. 0.5 mile to the walk. Continue with the walk as previously stated. After crossing the wooden bridge bare right up the hill towards SWW#5 The Tree. The series consists of 9 caches which make a pleasant walk of approx. 3 miles. Please bring your own pen/pencil as some of the caches are too small to include them. Shelf Woods & Waterfalls #1 – By the drive but not a drive-by. GC2Z0Z2 SWW #2 – Out of bounds.
