An easy cache hidden in a beautiful spot offering an opportunity to spot a platypus or at least a duck or two (they tend to be more active in the late afternoon). The cache is a very short walk from the car over grass on a slight incline.
Warning: once you open the gate you are in an open dam area, please closely supervise children. There is no need to go close to the water to find this cache.
Want a chance to spot a platypus away from the public viewing platforms? This is a beautiful spot to relax for a while and of course grab a cache. There is a gate which looks locked, but it isn’t. The area is private property that has been specifically set up for the public to enjoy. The cache has been placed with the permission of the owner. If there is extra rope around the gate, don’t be put off, it’s to deter the cattle not the cachers!
Just park in front of the gate (almost on top of the coordinates) and walk in. Unfortunately the grass and the gate may make it a little hard for normal wheelchairs. Otherwise it is an easy walk, and the cache is very close.
This out of the way location is occasionally visited by tourist busses but if you manage to catch one, just wait 5 minutes and you will have the place to yourself.
This lunch box sized cache has plenty of room for swaps and reasonably sized travel bugs.
Please make sure you shut the gate!
Congratulations to Danielc and Val on the FTF.
