Games

Creative Cache Container Contest

Back by popular demand, camo a container and submit it to win a prize! The cache needs to be constructed in such a way that it could actually be placed as a cache in the wild. It must be able to stand up to the elements without falling apart or leaking. You must include a log book, and the cache name should be written on it. When you check in and enter your cache, you will be assigned a number; this number will be written on the first page of the log. One voting slip will be handed to each person on check in. There will be three blanks so you can vote for one cache out of each of the three categories (Best Camouflage, Best Craftsmanship, and Most Creative). When you vote, use the number on the first page of the log to indicate which cache you are voting for. You can vote until 1:30 pm; the votes will be tallied at that time. Prizes will be awarded during the "Awards and Door Prizes" time.

FTF Hangman Race

Throughout the day, we will add a number to FTF Hangman (N _ _ _ _._ _ _ W _ _ _ _ _._ _ _ ) which will reveal the cache’s coordinates. The first person industrious enough to figure out where we hid the cache will receive the FTF prize voucher inside. A number will be added each half hour, so be sure to check back to the pavilion periodically.

Turkey Shoot

How accurate can you get. Get your flag and punch in the coordinates and mark where you think ground zero is. Prizes will be awardedfor the closest flag for under 15 and over 15 years old.

Kick the can (of beans)

Take your best shot and see how close you can get. The ever popular kick the can of beans game is back. Use the leg and see how close to the goal you can get. Prizes awarded to the nearest landing for kids and adults and drawing for everyone who makes it into the zone.

Kid-Friendly Caches

We will be hiding several kid-friendly caches to add to the kids’ caching fun. More details will be available the day of the event.

Travel Bug Race

You bring a new* travel bug, or make one at our travel bug center, and we will release them all. Three prizes will be given out. Prizes will be given to the Bug that logs the most miles, the Bug that visits the most caches, and the first Bug to go missing.
*Never before activated

MNGca will have Cachekinz travel tags available for sale, or bring your own travel bug dog tags with you.
